Two slag mills are to be installed in Daqiuzhuang by Loesche for customer Zhasan Youfa Iron & Steel, of which Tianjin Metallurgy Group is the main shareholder. The order covers two sets of LM 4600 CS 2 slag mills to be supplied by Loesche China through Loesche Mills (Shanghai) in cooperation with Loesche Technology. The dry process developed by Loesche for recovering metals from steel slag combines all the advantages of conventional processes and allows for virtually 100% metal recovery down to the finest fractions range by means of optimised dry grinding, classification and sorting technology. Processing slag into a high-quality mineral filler product with precisely definable grain size distribution ensures the full value of the mined iron ore and steel flux inputs is realised beyond the steel itself.
From its workshop in Shanghai, Loesche was able to cover the mill housing, frame, stand and static parts. In order to ensure all the processes run smoothly, Loesche is also responsible for project management, commissioning and erection supervision. The contract was signed in April 2012 and the components are due to be delivered by the end of the year. Commissioning is scheduled for the beginning of 2013.
