RSL lighting solution approved by MSHA

rsl.jpgTwo years of research, testing, product development and canvassing of mining industry authorities, equipment manufacturers, mine workers and safety advocates have resulted in the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s (MSHA) approval of an RSL Fiber Systems’ lighting product, which the company believes will revolutionise the way mine equipment is illuminated.

The key federal approval of RSL’s Mine Equipment Visibility Outlining System gives RSL and its West Virginia-based sales and distribution partner, CAI Industries/Gauley-Robertson the green light to market the “ground-breaking technology” to coal mine equipment manufacturers and operators and install it on a wide variety of heavy mining equipment for underground operations in permissable (hazardous) locations.

“This is a monumental day for RSL Fiber Systems and provides a new opportunity for coal mine operators and equipment manufacturers to elevate safety and productivity in the mine environment,” said RSL President and Chief Technology Officer Giovanni Tomasi. “We are confident this new technology and the ensuing line of products it will generate, including the newly-approved Mine Equipment Visibility Outlining System, have the potential to change the way we illuminate mines and mine equipment forever,” said CAI/Gauley-Robertson President Chuck Lilly.
