In July Royal Haskoning and DHV announced the merger to form Royal HaskoningDHV. Turgis Consulting, previously part of the DHV Group, now becomes an integral part of Royal HaskoningDHV. With offices in South Africa and the UK, and a history spanning more than 22 years, the company specialises in all aspects of mining consultancy. From review, design, operation and project management, to mining, mechanical, electrical, metallurgical, environmental and logistic projects for surface and underground mines for virtually every major mineral.
“We are immensely proud to announce the launch of Royal HaskoningDHV,” says Bertrand van Ee (Chair). “Combining our incredible pool of talent is great news for our clients. Becoming one company represents a wider range of project management, engineering and consultancy services, all available and accessible under one roof. This merger highlights the breadth of our skills across an even wider range of disciplines and exciting new opportunities in our relationship with our clients.” As one company, Royal HaskoningDHV provides services that span planning and transport, delta and water technology, maritime, aviation, industry, energy, mining and buildings.
He continued “The merger means Royal HaskoningDHV is now one of Europe’s leading independent project management, engineering and consultancy service providers. We have combined knowledge and geographic bases in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia which allows us to play a part in major world themes, such as ‘pit-to-port’.”
“We are particularly excited about the ‘pit-to-port’ initiative” says Patrick Willis (General Manager responsible for Mining Consulting and Engineering in the London office and formally Managing Director of Turgis Consulting). He adds: “As well as providing our current clients with studies and reviews in the mining and mining infrastructure areas, we are now able to call upon extensive expertise covering the complete mine logistically value chain, including rail, port and other bulk material handling infrastructure.”
