In its highest profile exhibition presence for many years, BELAZ will be showing off its current largest model, the 75603, 360 t capacity mining truck this week. Previously specified as the 75601 prototype, the 360 t model has a length of 15 m, a width of over 9 m and a height of 7 m. The fuel tank can hold over 4,000 litres of fuel and the wheels have a 4 m diameter. BELAZ also claims a top speed for the truck of 64 km/h, and cites improved traction and dynamic performance on the truck as well as improved safety parameters. This includes a new system for proximity monitoring, using a video camera, radars and a thermovision camera. Finally, the truck is equipped with up-to-date lighting engineering and access systems which meet the latest regulatory requirements in key mining countries. The first 75601 prototype models were delivered to the KRU Bachatski mine in 2010/2011.
The dump truck is also equipped with a system for fast fuelling and oil servicing of the engine and hydraulic system. The 75603 truck is fitted with a QSK78-C Cummins Tier 2 engine and Siemens AC drive. Overall, over 20 75600 series BELAZ trucks, including the 320 t 75600, prototype 75601 and the 75603, are now in operation at KRU mines Bachatski and Taldinski; with further models at the Chernigovets mine. The company recommends loading of the 75600 series with shovels of bucket capacity 45-70 m3. The 75600 series trucks have been loaded in operational use so far by a range of models including the Komatsu PC5500 plus P&H and IZ-Kartex rope shovels. BELAZ is also expected to release details of its planned 450 t truck at MINExpo 2012. In past years, it has displayed a model of a concept super ultra class truck which was articulated. More details on this truck will be posted later this week.
