Mobile screening and crushing equipment supplier IROCK has introduced the new TS-516 high capacity scalper. The machine is one of five tracked screener units in IROCK’s lineup, and “improves productivity in a range of applications with greater hopper capacity, larger screens and a wider, oversize conveyor.” IROCK designed the TS-516 so it can be used in a primary crusher circuit for materials such as iron ore, aggregates, coal and heavy rock. At the same time, the machine is versatile enough to handle sticky clay and topsoil.

It is powered by a 129 hp Caterpillar C4.4 engine and is capable of processing materials at a rate of 570 t/h. In terms of transportation, the equipment can be folded and loaded onto a truck or trailer, for easy relocation. As the largest tracked screener in its size class, the TS-516 also has the greatest hopper capacity. With an 11.7 yd³ hopper, it delivers more capacity than any other scalper in its class according to IROCK. The equipment also increases production capacity with a total of 157 ft² of screening area having a 16 ft by 5 ft top deck and a 15 ft 4 in by 5 ft bottom deck. This design allows users to produce and sort products in up to three different sizes, and the decks can be interchanged so customers have more control over end product size. In addition, to accommodate the high productivity of the rest of the machine, the TS-516 also features a 63 in oversize conveyor. With a width that improves on the nearest competitor’s scalper by 15 in, the conveyor accommodates higher tonnages and alleviates much of the potential for congestion.

The company adds: “Design features and component options further enhance the machine’s durability and flexibility and provide end users more customisation control. A rubber belt feeder is standard on the unit, but customers can substitute a Hardox apron feeder. Since Hardox feeders are designed to increase longevity in the most rugged environments and are ideal for applications requiring maximum durability. While the TS-516 comes standard with an attached cord and remote for controlling and manoeuvering the scalper around a job site, many customers gain more flexibility with a wireless remote option.”
