Kopex roadheaders bound for Argentina

kopex.jpgPoland-based underground mining equipment major, Kopex, has signed an agreement with Zakłady Mechaniczne Bumar – Łabędy SA concerning the supply of roadheaders for the Argentine coal mining company Yacimiento Carbonifero Rio Turbio (YCRT). The gross value of the agreement amounts to €19.63 million.

In addition to the supply of roadheaders, Kopex will also deliver conveyors and spare parts, conduct training exercises as well as carrying out engineering supervision of equipment assembly and commissioning, as well as actual operation of the equipment over the first six months of use. These are not the first supplies of equipment by Kopex to YCRT. At the end of 2011, Kopex signed an agreement concerning the supply of a longwall system for YCRT woth over €27 million, while between the years 2005 and 2009, YCRT was equipped with a complete longwall system, roadheaders and methane measuring station.
