Atlas Copco launches responsive design website

Posted on 20 Mar 2013

Atlas Copco says it has moved one step forward in web design, with the launch of its website in responsive design, for optimal viewing on any device. The website advance provides all customers, prospects and other stakeholders with an optimal and efficient viewing experience across computers, tablets and smartphones.

The company states: “More and more internet users are now using tablets or mobile devices rather than laptops or desktop computers. In business to business the rate of adaptation is expected to increase rapidly in the near future. With responsive design all Atlas Copco websites will recognise the type of device the visitor is using and adapt the website format to suit the size of this device. This means Atlas Copco will meet visitors’ demands and make it easy to navigate on the websites.”

Web responsive design guarantees easy reading and navigation as the layout adapts itself to the screen size of the visitors’ device. On smaller screens (like smartphones, tablets), the website will always show at its optimum, no matter which device the visitor is using. The re-designed website complements the Atlas Copco apps including BUILD, which is a customer magazine, the content is related to innovation and sustainable productivity in infrastructure, civil works and road construction projects. The new App is free and available worldwide for iPad and iPhone platforms.

The Underground Mining app allows users to gain extensive access to the company’s wide range of underground face drilling rigs, loaders, trucks and other equipment. The exclusive content in the app includes high resolution images of the products presented as 3D turntables. In addition, all of the content can be synchronised so that it can be accessed offline. The underground app is available across the apple and android platforms for tablets and smartphones.
