Pioneer Pump now has a number of mining pump service training videos hosted on Youtube to help customers better understand tasks like disassembling a centrifugal pump, including dealing with the bearing frame and the centrifugal pump end. The selection of videos also include a company overview with focus on the mining industry, including footage from the Bering Sea, where small scale miners are using pumps to dredge mine for gold off the coast of Nome, Alaska. The films can be viewed at the following link: http://www.youtube.com/user/PioneerPump?feature=watch
At the Alaska operation, a PP86S17 Pioneer pump uses a pressure differential to bring rock and sand up off the ocean floor and deliver it to a sluice box where gold is collected. Water from the discharge of the pump is injected into the power jet and causes a vacuum to form in the material hose which sucks up water and gravel from the ocean floor and delivers it to the header box at the top of the sluice, which captures the gold behind the riffles.
Pioneer has also just announced the promotion of Josh Standridge to Vice President of Sales. He was formerly Midwest Regional Sales Manager from 2007 where he was instrumental in developing business in the oil and gas industry in northern Canada as well as construction and rental markets.
