Gekko signs engineering, installation and technology deal with Brazahav

Posted on 19 Apr 2013

Gekko Systems has signed a deal with Brazahav Resources for the design engineering, supply and installation of a complete intensive leaching circuit for the Salinas gold project in Mato Grosso, western Brazil. Brazahav acquired the Salinas gold project in November 2012 and has been expanding production capabilities and improving the resource definition. Gekko is developing intensive leach circuits in Latin America for the treatment of silver flotation concentrates and gravity gold concentrates, in both cases the precious metals in the mineral flow sheets is converted into dorè for shipment. Gekko also has one of their largest continuous gravity InLine Pressure Jig pre-concentration circuits in the Jujuy province of Argentina and a number of gold and silver modular processing plants throughout Latin America.

The Business Development Manager of Gekko, Nigel Grigg said “Brazil continues to show strong growth in gold project development and is increasing a key market n Gekko’s portfolio of global installations. Gekko has invested in Latin America for the long term and this project is particularly exciting as the ILR is providing a sustainable process option to increase gold recovery.”

The project has been fast tracked, with installation and commissioning expected to be completed in September this year. Gekko is currently providing engineering assistance to enable a number of parts for the installation to be manufactured in Brazil.
