The Vancouver based environmental technology company BioteQ has released their new pilot project for selenium removal in BC’s Elk Valley. Canadian and US regulations are continuing to tighten concerning selenium levels in mine wastewater. BioteQ has recently teamed up with Teck Resources to implement a pilot test for the recently developed Selen-IX technology at Teck’s facilities in BC’s Elk Valley. The pilot will begin in the coming months and will test the new technology in the field.
BioteQ’s Selen-IX is an advanced ion exchange technology that provides cost-effective removal of selenium from mine impacted waters. Selen-IX can be integrated into mining operations in even the most remote locations, with the flexibility to work with varying volumes of water.
