Posted on 9 Jul 2013

Metso has received two awards due to the results in the Second Ranking of the Chiliean mining suppliers. The study by Phibrand, organised by the Editec Editorial Group and sponsored by the Mining Ministry, Aprimin and Imagine Chile, measured for a second time the perception that mining companies have regarding suppliers of equipment and services in the national mining industry.

The opinion research was based on survey carried out in April and May 2013, with 350 people participating. Six percent of the survey was completed by top managment professionals, with 32% area managers and 62% operational headquarters, all having purchase responsibilities and linked to different site engineering firms around the country.

Metso was awarded first place in the category of most successful company in the crushers and mills segment. Metso also received the award of second place in the category of most representative brands in the national mining industry.

In the First Ranking conducted in 2012, 40% of those surveyed felt that Metso was the most successful company in the field of crushers and mills in the surface mining industry.  In 2013, 43% of those surveyed affirmed the same perception. Metso also obtained the spontaneous mention of 28% of the respondents as the second most representative company of the mining industry.
This study details the current scene of the suppliers industry in national mining. The research aims at suppliers of large scale mining who base their business strategy on scientific information of the market. Thus, the suppliers can improve their dissemination and the mining companies can make wiser decisions to choose a product or a service.
