International trade pavilions, trade delegations, and the largest-ever footprint of overseas exhibitors will be a highlight of Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition – AIMEX, to be held in Sydney in August. There will be over 600 mining industry exhibitors covering an area of over 45,000 m2 at Sydney Showground, Sydney from August 20-23.
“Both established and emerging market regions will have official international pavilions at AIMEX 2013, providing an opportunity for niche suppliers of products and services – or those making an initial approach to the Australian market – to have a presence at the exhibition,” said Paul Baker, Exhibition Director with organiser Reed Mining Events.
Countries with international pavilions at AIMEX 2013 are China (768 m2), Germany (594 m2), USA (246 m2), Canada (108 m2), France (36 m2) and Chile (18 m2).
“In addition to these international pavilions, we have nearly 30 international companies – many of whom are first-time AIMEX exhibitors – showing their products and services to the Australian and Asia-Pacific mining industry. The growth in international companies and pavilions at AIMEX reflected the growing importance of the Australian mining industry to the mining supply sector worldwide.
“The space taken at AIMEX by international exhibitors has doubled in the past 10 years, and has continued to grow in the two years since our previous edition. It’s an indication of how the mining industry is changing rapidly; we have equipment and service suppliers who had not even been heard of outside their home markets just a few years ago, yet today they are competing on global markets.
“For Australian mining companies, these non-traditional sources of supply are claiming to offer opportunities to reduce their upfront capital equipment costs, as well as their whole-of-life operating costs – and that makes a compelling reason for miners throughout the country to come along to AIMEX 2013,” Baker said.
The other major international presence at AIMEX 2013 will be in the form of international trade delegations.Through official AIMEX industry partner Austrade, trade delegations have been organised from a number of key international markets.
