IMI Sensors, a division of PCP Piezotronics, has released new sensing technologies ideal for use in a mining operation, such as exploration and processing of non-metals, metals and minerals. In all of these applications, the machinery is subject to severe vibration. Specialised sensors that must be approved for use in hazardous and dangerous areas are mounted on industrial mining equipment, such as shovels, draglines, bulldozers, drills, SAG and ball mills, conveyors, pumps, vibratory screens, and trucks. This helps reliability professionals to extend the life of their industrial equipment, as well as to ensure worker safety where environmental noise is prevalent.
IMI Sensors also released a new brochure highlighting application-specific solutions for monitoring and protection of critical mining equipment. The new Mining Equipment Monitoring and Protection brochure features sensor placement illustrations and is designed to help mining professionals to select the optimal sensors and accessories for monitoring mining machinery. Also featured in the brochure are worker safety products, such as environmental and handheld noise monitoring equipment for use in general and hazardous areas.
