Geometallurgy 2014, June in London

Posted on 21 Nov 2013

This event is being organised by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, June 9-10, 2014, in London, UK. Geometallurgy aims to develop methods and tools improving the efficiency of the recovery of metals and industrial minerals by fostering understanding of (the variability of) the properties of the mineral resource understanding of the relationship between the properties of ore types and the processing routes planning of the extraction and processing operations. This conference addresses recent developments in the rapidly evolving field of geometallurgy. Now calling for papers – deadline for abstracts January 31 2014.

It is intended as an inspirational forum to promote realisation of the gains geometallurgy can bring to the mining industry. Activation Laboratories describes GeoMetallurgy as “a multidisciplinary, applied science with the objective of integrating data and practices from the geosciences (geochemistry, geology, mineralogy and geostatistics), sampling, extractive metallurgy and engineering to mitigate risk such that mining outcomes do not fall short of unrealistic technical and financial targets that have historically plagued the industry.”
