EdanSafe, the CRCMining spin-off company, and developer of the award-winning SmartCap operator fatigue monitoring system, has announced the appointment of Paul Butler as its Chief Executive Officer. Chairman of EdanSafe, Laurie Hammond, said that Paul brings substantial leadership experience from the medical, communications and mining sectors to the role, as well as a significant understanding of technology organisations. Hammond said that Butler’s appointment comes at a strategic time for the business as demand for its SmartCap fatigue management system continues to accelerate.
“Having now secured several, significant SmartCap orders, attracted additional capital investment and proven the technology’s use in the field, EdanSafe is ready for a dedicated CEO to advance the business to the next stage,” he said. “Paul is an experienced business leader who has led and developed teams across the technology domain,” he said. “His background in the medical and mining sectors in particular will play a key role in driving the future growth of EdanSafe’s workplace health and safety technologies such as SmartCap.”
Prior to joining EdanSafe, Paul was Executive General Manager—Products for global mining technology leader GroundProbe and CEO of USCOM, an ASX listed medical device company.
