The latest MALÅ GroundExplorer (GX) is based on MALÅ´s innovative and patent-pending HDR technology and represents a “leap forward” in ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology according to the company. MALÅ GroundExplorer is an integrated GPR solution with four different antenna options; 80MHz, 160MHz, 450MHz and the 750MHz. Every MALÅ GX solution contains two separate components, the GX Controller and the GX antenna, connected through a single cable.
The MALÅ GX Controller delivers “excellent performance and out-door visibility.” The GX Controller is built with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor and uses a high-resolution 1024×768 pixel display to present the 32-bit data. Its easy-to-use interface is based on the appreciated MALÅ XV Monitor, but with improved performance and functionality. The GX Controller also has a built in battery and single cable connection to simplify handling in the field.
The MALÅ GX series of antennas comes standard with a built-in DGPS system for accurate positioning. The GX Controller also supports the use of an external GPS. Furthermore, the MALÅ GX supports a wide range of distance encoders, including a standard wheel encoder, spring-loaded wheel and string encoder. Depending on the application, the MALÅ GroundExplorer is typically configured as a either push- or a pull-system.
The company states: “The bottom line is that most of the exploration today could not be done without technology, and there is a continuing need for this technology to provide data that is more accurate, faster and cost effective to meet the challenges of rapidly increasing demand for diminishing resources. Over the last 20 years, MALÅ GPR has been playing an expanding role in delivering high-resolution data for both exploration and extraction of resources. Accuracy, speed and cost-effectiveness of MALÅ GPR has provided valuable information for executive and professionals to make informed decisions that optimise profitability while minimising exposure to risk.”
