North Hauler wins mining truck contract from Anshan

Posted on 11 Jun 2014

A contract was recently signed between iron ore miner and steel producer Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation (Ansteel) and Inner Mongolia North Hauler (NHL), part of Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industries Group (NHI), itself a part of China North Industries Group Corporation (Norinco), for the supply to Ansteel of ten NTE200 electric drive mining trucks. The NTE200 is still in the final stages of initial manufacturing, and the first truck will be completed in July 2014. Ansteel has been a traditional strategic partner of NHI for a long time but the new deal is significant in that the new large capacity NTE truck was chosen versus other options.

Elsewhere, NHI has been in talks with GE Mining and says it has “reached a consensus on building a secure, healthy and pollution-free underground working environment.” Norinco states that there has been a technical exchange with regard to product performances and developing trends of mining equipment. Discussions covered how to be more energy efficient as well as cost-reduction and better maintenance as part of the mining process. Norinco states: “after a thorough discussion, both sides agreed to jointly promote the development of the mining industry in Inner Mongolia through several approaches including joint-venture, technology import and leasing.”
