The Freight Co, Myanmar held two successive presentations in Myanmar’s capital Nay Pyi Taw. The second presentation was held for staff of the Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise (MEPE) under the Ministry of Electric Power (MoEP). During this workshop Patrick Dick, CEO, addressed the old infrastructure in Myanmar that will severely add to the transportation costs while rebuilding and expanding the country’s power grid. Dick showed solutions how to save on costs by utilizing equipment with lesser mobilization and utilisation costs. At the same time safety issues were addressed.

International Mining is organising the first International Mining Myanmar conference for the end of October this year in Myanmar, at which Patrick Dick will present on logisitics for the mining industry. The event (https://im-mining.com/international-mining-myanmar-conference/) will be held October 30 and 31 alongside Mining Myanmar – the 2nd International Mining and Minerals Recovery Exhibition (www.miningmyanmar.com) at the Myanmar Convention Centre, Yangon.

Myanmar is the second largest country in SE Asia and with the opening up of the country to investment and development is therefore prime territory for the discovery of high quality deposits. Its geographic position, sandwiched between India and China, is another very significant advantage for the country.

While there is a fledging existing mining industry, there is huge potential for growth; as well as the opportunity to apply more mechanised and advanced mining methods and technology to current and future mining operations there. The conference papers will cover regulation/legislation in the country, resource and reserve reporting, environmental aspects, the existing mining industry, junior miner activities, as well as options for equipment supply and contract mining. There will be keynote presentations from the Ministry of Mining and the Myanmar Federation of Mining Association (MFMA).During each presentation The Freight Co., Ltd. announced that they will host a heavy transportation and lifting workshop for a number of Ministries including the Ministry of Energy, Power, Industry, Construction and Transport in November in Yangon. The workshop will give local authorities an opportunity to catch up with modern lifting and transportation technologies as well as addressing safety issues.
