In December, mining equipment group BELAZ has been finalising the assembly in its experimental workshop of a new large wheel loader, the 78250, with a bucket capacity of 11.5 m³. According to the company, new technical solutions for different systems and assembly units make the new wheel loader “unique.”
For the first time a wheel loader of this type has been equipped with AC electric drive, which makes it possible to enhance loader productivity, as well as reduce costs and shorten maintenance time. The loader is also equipped with a low power consumption engine of 1,050 hp capacity with an electronic control and in built diagnostics system. It has a modern integrated hydraulic system to ensure safety and high work performance; and an automatic positioning system enabling it to perform bucket lifting at the required height while returning to the correct working position, which considerably increases operator efficiency. Finally it has a load weighing system. The driver’s cabin also has enhanced comfort with an electronic dashboard, as well as improved lining and insulation materials.
At present time the front loader BELAZ-78250 with the bucket capacity of 11,5 m3 is being assembled in experimental workshop.
BELAZ stated: “Due to the increased dimensions, loading height and bucket capacity, the range of serviced mining dump trucks is being enlarged. The new front loader can load mining dump trucks with a payload capacity up to 90 t that are in a great demand among consumers.” This would include the BELAZ 7557 but also the Caterpillar 777, Komatsu HD785 and Hitachi EH1100 amongst others.
