Superior Industries, Inc, the major American manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, has announced its acquisition of MFE Manufacturing. Family owned and operated since its founding in 1947, MFE designs and builds portable plants for construction, aggregates and material handling industries. The 68-year company is headquartered in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada.
Today, MFE is best known for engineering and fabricating portable processing plants, including jaw and cone crushing systems, screen plants and belt feeders. The company also designs and builds stationary structures for bulk material handling applications. MFE operates from a 25,000 square foot plant at the mouth of the Miramichi River in New Brunswick.
According to Superior, the acquisition allows the manufacturer to boost its existing offering of portable plant designs. In addition, MFE’s location in the northeast adds another, strategically located factory to Superior’s North American portfolio, which includes existing plants in the Northwest, Southwest, Southeast and Midwest. Furthermore, the two companies share similar strategies incorporating the voice of the customer into product designs, including highly mobile equipment designed for fast setup.
Superior Industries engineers and manufactures “groundbreaking, bulk material handling equipment and cutting-edge components.” From its headquarters in Morris, Minnesota, the manufacturing firm supplies bulk crushing, screening, washing and conveying systems for industries including construction aggregates, mining, bulk terminals, agriculture, power and biomass. In addition to its home plant in Minnesota, the 43-year-old Superior operates from additional engineering and manufacturing plants in Alberta, Canada; Arizona, US; Georgia, US; Michigan, US; Nebraska, US; and New Brunswick, Canada.
