Drill rig levers are often located some distance from the mast, says DAT Instruments. “That improves safety but it also constrains operators to move back and forth to control mast verticality before and during drilling.” The company has launched the Drilling Starter Kit, a real time inclination data display placed next to the rig switches; inclination degree is measured by the DAT INCL XY sensor. The result, DAT says, is “safer and more professional management of all your drilling rigs.”
DAT INCL XY allows the measurement, with accuracy, of the X and Y inclination angles to the vertical axes. The inclinometer is housed in a very resistant aluminium case, suitable for installation on drilling equipment, measuring slide inclination and, after that, rod inclination.
Avaiable outputs focus on versatility:
- Two analogue outputs (X axes and Y axes) for analogue acquisition system
- RS232 communication port for PC connection or acquisition and display system with digital inputs (JET 4000 AME, JET SDP or JET DSP 100)
- Alarm outputs which can activate while overreaching angles X+, X-, Y+, Y-
