JCHX Mining Management, one of the top mining construction companies in China, recently received high-fidelity, training simulators for their Atlas Copco 282 drill rig and Normet 1050 shotcrete sprayer operators, at their training facility in Miyun County, Beijing. The simulators represent ThoroughTec Simulation’s latest CYBERMINE system. The global training simulator provider has one of the widest range of mining equipment training simulators in the industry.

The two simulators have been customised for JCHX to include Mandarin language localisation. The drill rig simulator features a drill pattern editor and scaling, meshing and bolting functions. Whilst the shotcrete sprayer features a unique training tool that utilises colours to show whether or not the operator is spraying to the correct thickness. Training operators to apply the correct thickness limits wastage, promotes a better bind to the rock surface and ultimately ensures a more secure rock face for improved safety.
The CYBERMINE training simulator features a simulated cab, a highly realistic replica of the actual mining equipment, with fully functional simulated instruments and controls. The replicated cab is mounted on a motion platform capable of imparting up to three degrees of freedom, ideal for underground mining equipment. The cab is surrounded by a panoramic, high-resolution projection display system with surround sound audio. Training and evaluation is exercised in real time from an advanced instructor station and displayed on two high definition widescreen displays. The entire mining simulator system is housed in a customised, self-contained ISO standard container, which also facilitates ease of transport.
