Motion Metrics has added improvements and features to its existing PortaMetrics™ technology, its point and shoot 3D machine vision tablet that provides fragmentation analysis of an outdoor scene without the need for any reference scaling object. The new user interface “is more intuitive, easier to navigate and includes improvements to overall device functionality.” Furthermore, the user can now make manual corrections to rock segmentation using the touchscreen on the device. For example, when the software has over-segmented a rock, the user can manually correct the rock size by drawing a line around its perimeter. “Combining 3D vision with manual correction, the new PortaMetrics leaves no stone unmeasured” says the company.
