The American Exploration & Mining Association’s (AEMA) 121st Annual Meeting, Exposition & Short Courses will open Monday, November 30 at the newly expanded Spokane Convention Center. The Annual Meeting is the second largest annual mining convention in the US after the SME, featuring 242 exhibitors, a core shack, over 30 short course and technical sessions, and two field trips to area mines, bringing more than 1,500 people to Spokane, WA.
The Annual Meeting is the largest annual gathering of the mineral exploration sector in the US and provides significant business and social networking opportunities. The Annual Meeting runs from Monday, November 30 through Friday, December 4 and will feature two keynote speakers, Phillips S Baker Jr, the President and CEO of Coeur d’Alene based Hecla Mining Company and Janice M Schneider, Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management of the US Department of the Interior.
This year’s event also will celebrate the 125th anniversary of Hecla Mining Company, a founding member of AEMA in 1895. “One hundred twenty-five years is a huge accomplishment in any industry, but especially in mining, which has never been for the faint of heart,” said Laura Skaer, AEMA Executive Director.
