India’s tyre major BKT is to showcase its new large tyre for mining at Bauma 2016, the 27.00R49 Earthmax SR45 Plus, with a height of 2.7 m. This size is suitable for smaller rigid trucks such as the Caterpillar 777 and Komatsu HD785. BKT says has been engineered for rigid dumpers and is ideal for long-haul operations. “The strong all steel casing structure stands for extraordinary stability as well as enhanced cut-and-chip resistance.” The special tread design also provides excellent self-cleaning properties and minimises vibrations and noise.
At the BKT stand the company will also feature its Earthmax series with six different models in the spotlight: Earthmax SR41 (size 29.5R25), an all steel radial tyre for articulated dumpers; the highly cut-resistant Earthmax SR47 (size 24.00R35), specially designed for rigid dumpers operating under harsh conditions; the Earthmax SR53 (size 23.5R25), “a strong and durable tyre, ideal for loaders and dozers in quarries and mining applications.” Lastly suitable for mining use is the Earthmax SR22 (size 20.5R25), “a tough tyre for loaders and motor graders operating in extreme winter conditions on ice or snow.”
