New HDPE piping solutions for mining to be unveiled by Victaulic

Victaulic, leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe-joining systems, will be unveiling its new range of Refuse To-Fuse™ HDPE pipe-joining solutions at the Australian Coal Preparation Society Conference from March 13 to 17 in Wollongong, NSW. Visitors to the Victaulic booth will be introduced to the Installation-Ready™ Style 905 coupling for joining plain-end HDPE pipe. Victaulic will preview three completely new products in the Refuse-To-Fuse line that are yet to be released in Australia.

“With the full Refuse-To-Fuse line for HDPE, Victaulic strives to help Australian mining industry with solutions that will dramatically reduce pipe installation time, ease maintenance and quality control checks, and ultimately deliver projects on time and within budget,” says the company. “We are pleased to be revealing three more innovations to the Australian and New Zealand market,” said David Greenwood, Victaulic Regional Manager. “We invite attendees to visit the Victaulic booth to see our latest advancements for coal mining and to discover how the speed of installation and reliability of our products can positively impact their bottom line. Piping systems converted from flanged to grooved have experienced significant time and cost savings. For example, a recent planned system shutdown that was scheduled for six hours turned into less than three hours with a Victaulic system—totalling more than 50% in savings.”

In detail, Victaulic will showcase the following products:

Refuse-to-Fuse™ System for HDPE pipe: Victaulic will display the latest in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe-joining solutions, including couplings, transitions couplings and outlets that eliminate the need for fusing. The HDPE system offers installation up to 10 times faster than fusing in any weather condition and requires no special training and no heating or cooling time.

Plain-End HDPE Coupling Style 905: The Style 905 coupling features Victaulic patented Installation-Ready™ technology, eliminating the need to disassemble the coupling before installation. The “push-on” method of joining makes pipeline assembly fast and easy.

HDPE-to-Steel Transition Coupling Style 907: The Style 907 transition coupling offers a one-piece transition from plain-end HDPE pipe to IPS grooved steel, allowing an easy transition between pipe materials or incorporation of valves, accessories or other components.

Double-Grooved HDPE Pipe Coupling Style 908: Double-grooved for positive engagement of the pipe creating a robust joint, Style 908 can be fitted in any weather and without the need for special equipment. Style 908 is up to 10x faster than fusing pipe and saves time by being cold-formed. As a part of the Installation-Ready™ line, this style is available in 250 mm to 900 mm.

Mining Mechanical-T Spigot Style 926: Specifically for the mining industry, the Style 926 is ideal for tailing lines. Designed to provide a direct outlet connection on HDPE, steel, and ductile iron pipe materials in IPS, ISO, and AWWA pipe sizes to service lines. The locating collar aligns the Mechanical-T Spigot in the outlet hole for accurate installation and provides rotational resistance. Outlet is carbon steel grooved – users can incorporate a butterfly valve for service shut-off and use the Victaulic Style 907 one piece HDPE-to-Steel transition coupling back to HDPE
