Doofor Inc, the Nordic drilling industry pioneer, is launching a new version in the DF550/560-series to deliver customers “a superior performance never seen before.” Manufactured with premium quality components and innovative in-house technology, the new DF560L-2M is now the most powerful rock drill available in the Doofor fleet. The model is a high frequency hydraulic rock drill, which is specially designed for production drilling on surface, underground and tunnelling.
The DF560L-2M “has superb functionality” equipped with two powerful 160cm3 Danfoss OMS-series rotation motors as a standard. The drifter provides 20kW percussion power. With the DF560L-2M, “it is possible to maintain high rotation speed in rock drilling complemented with powerful torque that is needed for example in sedimentary rock drilling.” The DF560L-2M is described as suitable for many types of heavy machinery such as excavator drill attachments, drill rigs and bolting systems. The optimal maximum hole diameter for the DF560L-2M is 89 mm in hard rock such as granite. With softer rock, a larger hole diameter could be achieved. Furthermore, the model has a very low overhead, just 84 mm from drill centre line. The low profile allows closer and deeper drilling, up to the roof and straighter according to targeted line. Its low physical profile also gives more possibilities in drill rig design.
The rock drill has a separated flushing head that allows utilisation of different flushing media such as water or air or air-water-mist. As an option for the regular type, Doofor has invented a new BLT-flushing head with enhanced, close-fitted properties. It is made of stainless steel and designed for challenging environments to protect the drill especially when water and even cement is used. In operation, BLT-flushing head prevents water leaking inside the drill and causing damage. Therefore the drill can perform at full capacity with relatively low maintenance costs.
The model is adjustable with R38, T38 and T45 shank adapters and when a BLT-flushing head is used, female FR28 and FR32 shank adapters are available. For tap hole drilling, the drill can be equipped with heat resistant sealing. Doofor says the DF560L-2M “is not only complementing the existing product line but also enhances customer’s business in future.”
