DelPat, is software for planning and analysis of drilling blasting operations for all types of open pit excavation. The required blasted fragment size distribution is an input value and the results are calculated automatically by DelPat. The current version is DelPat v8.0. The benefits for the users are accurate drilling, better blasting, visual tracking, sampling know-how after each blast, requested fragment size distribution as result and low costs.
The effects of ground parameters on drilling and blasting operations are monitored. Detailed geological or rock mechanical values are not required as an input value, selectable effective data is sufficient to run the calculations: hardness and density (t/m3), joint orientation, water in borehole, rock mass, joint spacing, rock type.
The expected result from an efficient blast is to have the desired particle size distribution, to obtain a homogeneous and well-shifted stack. The fragment size distribution of blasted material is important in terms of the selection of loading, hauling, crushing equipment and thickness of rock fill. Required parameters for definition: Passing size (10-150 cm), Percentage by weight (5 – 99%)
It is important is to find the most suitable drill rig type for the project.
Required features of drill rigs before preparing the blasthole is: dimensions of the machine, climbing ability, hole diameters (mm), drilling/rate, speed (m/h, m/min), fuel consumption (litres/hr), environmental impact.
Most brands and models are included and ready to use in DelPat’s database.
Many brands and types of civil explosives are available in the market. The important item is to identify the most useful explosives for the project. If there is water in blastholes, a water resistance feature is necessary, Detonation velocity (m/sec) depending to the structure of ground (hard or soft), the dimensions (diameter x length) for cartridge explosives, simplicity of transportation and of storage options, delay adequacy of detonators, unit price ($/kg, $/m)
Most brands and types of explosives are included and ready to use in DelPat’s database.
All required report types for drilling-blasting are available. Reports can be customized by using the simple filter features. Some of the reports are: Drilling reports, Explosive reports, Drilling pattern reports, Specific drilling or specific charge reports as a function of the hole diameter, Drilling or blasting cost reports as a function of the hole diameter, Unit cost reports, project compare reports, Project organization reports, Reports for daily records for drilling or blasting.
Planning: Visual tracking of blasting area, blastholes and explosive is possible.
Borders of blasting area, location of blastholes can be changed, blastholes can be added, deleted or copied, ground level and subdrill of blastholes can be changed. Delay numbers for each blasthole can be edited, visual animation of the blasting model is available, circular effective area and effective burden can be viewed, the amount of explosive in any blasthole can be edited, the seismic impact of all the changes can be tracked with several graphical forms
A topographic measurement can be directly uploaded to DelPat and the prapared blasting model can be added over the terrain measurementst. Terrain topographic measurement values can be monitored (XYZ coordinates), each blasting location on the area and each blastholes can be monitored, all the model is shown with an effective 3D view and 2D contour line views.
Seismic values calculated by DelPat and field vibration measurements with distance values are shown in this section. İn detail: Maxamout of explosives per delay (kg/delay), rock factor• PVS (mm/sec), distance between measurement points by blasting site (m), SD (m/kg^1/2), distance value with scaling factor, all values are presented in a PVS–SD graphic screen.
