Datamine (a wholly owned subsidiary of Constellation Software) has acquired Pitney Bowes’ MapInfo Discover suite. The MapInfo Discover suite is specifically developed for the mining and exploration industry and can greatly increase utilisation of data, revealing possibilities previously mired in spreadsheets and graphs. The products included are the highly successful MapInfo Discover and Discover 3D products, Discover Viewer, Discover Mobile, Compass Enterprise, GP Info and QuickMag.
“We are excited to acquire the MapInfo Discover suite which fits very well alongside our existing solutions for 3D geological modelling, resource estimation and data management,” said Damian McKay, CEO of Datamine. “The Pitney Bowes natural resource products have everything an explorer needs to take them from pegging ground to when they would need to use a dedicated 3D modelling tool, which links straight into our existing solutions. This acquisition gives Datamine the ability to assist mining and exploration companies the entire way through the mining lifecycle.”
