ALTA Metallurgical has announced a focused 1-day ISR (in-situ recovery) symposium to be organised in cooperation with CSIRO Minerals. The symposium will be held Wednesday May 23 2018, and follows on from the three previous ISR events organised by CSIRO.
ISR has been mainly limited to roll front sandstone type uranium deposits which have suitable permeability. However, developing technology such as fracking has the potential to open the door to the treatment of a wider range of ore deposits and recovery of other metals such as gold and copper.
ALTA is now receiving abstracts. The symposium is part of ALTA 2018 which now covers:
- Nickel-Cobalt-Copper Sessions (21-23 May) including hydromet processing of copper, nickel and cobalt sulphides; forum & panel
- ISR Symposium (23 May); concludes with discussion and Q&A
- Uranium-REE-Li Sessions (24-25 May) including lithium processing forum & panel
- Gold-PM Sessions (24-25 May) including refractory and complex gold ores forum & panel
