IntelliSense Lab for mining and metallurgy digitalisation in Kazakhstan

IntelliSense Lab was officially launched at the “annual Kazakhstan Industrialization Day address”, by President Nursultan Nazarbayev. IntelliSense.io, an innovation partner for the global mining and natural resources industry, and Tech Garden, the leading Central Asian innovation cluster, have partnered to create IntelliSense Lab, a joint venture to deploy Industry 4.0 technologies to aid Digital Transformation in the Kazakh mining industry.

The partnership provides Kazakhstan with a significant competitive edge, and is one of 18 projects in the region announced by the Kazakhstan Ministry of Investment and Development. Based in Almaty, IntelliSense Lab’s first major initiative is the launch of the SMOC (Smart Monitoring & Optimisation Center) for the mining industry. By utilising Brains.app, the IntelliSense.io Real Time Decision Making Platform, IntelliSense Lab will work proactively with Kazakh mining companies to ensure their mine to market processes run efficiently against mining variability, and will introduce new approaches to optimise operations. The Lab will leverage IntelliSense.io’s success in the Chilean mining industry to deliver cross industry process and equipment performance benchmarks.

The IntelliSense Lab also offers end to end solutions involving devices, networking and software application capabilities from a single platform. The Lab will strategically support the technology ecosystem development in Kazakhstan, by building new sensors using the ARM Mbed platform combined with IntelliSense.io’s applications platform targeting mining and other industry 4.0 sectors.

Sam Bose, CEO of IntelliSense.io, commented “The IntelliSense Lab is an exciting development. It’s the first of its kind in Kazakhstan and Central Asia and I believe it will play a critical role in the digitisation efforts of the mining industry in the country and across the region. IntelliSense.io’s portfolio of Optimisation as a Service (OaaS) applications that are delivered through our Brains.app real time decision making platform have been successfully deployed across mining operations in South America and we are excited to partner with Tech Garden and share our best practices and experience in the sector.”

Autonomous cluster fund “Innovative Technologies Park” (Tech Garden) has the status of a nonprofit institution. The Chairman of the Management Committee is the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Abdirovich Sagintayev. The Fund consolidates existing potential and R&D infrastructure in Almaty and the Special Economic Zone (PIT), transfers 1% of total annual revenue from subsoil users to fund innovative projects, focuses on creating Technology Centres based on transnational corporations and attracting critical mass of startups.

IntelliSense.io is a Cambridge (UK) based provider of Optimisation as a Service (OaaS) applications for the Natural Resources Industries. The company’s applications are delivered from its Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered real-time decision-making platform (Brains.app), through a No Capital Expenditure model. These applications have been deployed in the Mining industry across Latin America and Kazakhstan for base and precious metal mining operations.
