ABB Ability Knowledge Manager delivers the benefits of digital to mines

ABB announced today the latest version of its well-established Knowledge Manager software, which has helped mining customers around the world improve the performance of their operations and equipment and the safety of their on-site personnel for decades. The latest version, ABB AbilityTM Knowledge Manager 9.0, incorporates leading-edge digital capabilities and technology to provide mining industry customers with the ability to easily view, analyse, and act upon critical process data from any mobile device.

Now integrated with the ABB AbilityTM System 800xA process control system and its extensive Minerals Library, the latest version of Knowledge Manager includes an easy-to-use mobile interface so operators can access and act upon process performance information at any time from any location. “It also includes simplified functions to create, view, and share reports, charts, and production trend analysis, and improvements to navigation and information storage. It draws upon ABB’s vast knowledge of industry-specific process challenges and solutions, and facilitates access to and guidance from ABB’s global network of process industry experts.”

Since its first release in 1996, many installations have benefited from Knowledge Manager’s industry specific functions, such as: Production Information Management, Production Accounting, SAP Integration, and Laboratory Information Management System. “Knowledge Manager simplifies production management by enabling performance monitoring, downtime management and maintenance support, as well as providing statistical production analysis tools. It provides solutions and advanced tools to facilitate the collection, consolidation and distribution of production, quality and energy information via the plant’s web-based reports, trends, and graphs.”
