NRW has announced the award by Rio Tinto of an Early Contract Involvement (ECI) contract for the provision of project development services. NRW will provide services and support through early contractor engagement and assist with providing construction expertise into the development of the sustaining capital program of works. The scope of the works to be performed are not definitive and will be performed under a schedule of rates arrangement, as required.

The announcement follows several key contract awards in recent years for NRW at Rio Tinto Pilbara sites, including the February 2018 award of A$37 million of bulk earthworks and associated civil works for the Southern Waste Fines Storage Facility at the Marandoo mine. Before that work has included a A$140 million, two year contract mining award at Nammuldi 2015-2017.
