Best developments and advances in mining software

We will be closing the nominations for the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame in August. The chosen nominees will be inducted at the International Mining Technology Hall of Fame gala dinner at the Hyatt Regency at Colorado Convention Center, Denver on February 25, 2019. The dinner is a key event in the SME Annual Conference week.

The current nominations shortlist has Alun Phillips, Product Manager – Scheduling Solutions for RungePincockMinarco. He is continually travelling the globe to engage with clients and understand their scheduling challenges, exploring ways to enhance the RPM product suite and adapt RPM technology to meet the needs of the industry. His tireless efforts have led to significant improvements in efficiency, accuracy, reliability and quality in mine scheduling.

Nominees for Caterpillar’s MineStar (pictured) are Craig Koehrsen, Michael Murphy, Chuck Sahm, Carl Hendricks, Claude Aboujaoude, Jason Gough, Josh Bynon and Chuck Boen.  Together, this group of exceptional candidates has over 45 patents and 150 combined years of technology innovation at Caterpillar.

Dingo Software CEO Paul Higgins is nominated; an innovative visionary who has moved the mining industry from a machine repair culture in the 1980s to a modern Asset Wellness™ approach.

Finally, there is the team behind the Trimble Connected Mine, an integrated source of data across the mine site. It provides one trusted source of truth of all data across the value chain/ operation/ enterprise.

The last inductee was Dr Terry Wiles who developed Map3D, a fully integrated 3D layout (CAD), visualisation (GIS) and stability analysis package (BEM elasto‐plastic numerical modelling stress analysis).
