RCT has announced its latest project with Northern Star Resources at its East Kundana Joint Venture (EKJV) in the Eastern Goldfields, Western Australia. The underground mine site recently added two new Sandvik LH514s to its fleet, and opted to equip them with RCT’s ControlMaster® Teleremote and Guidance Automation solutions to help achieve its production targets.

The Guidance Automation solution will ensure faster production cycle times and reduce potential machine damage during the tramming cycle. Guidance Automation will be utilised in conjunction with RCT’s Surface Control System to allow the client to maximise overall equipment effectiveness and available operational time during shift change and re-entry, which would otherwise be lost to downtime.

Northern Star Resources has chosen to incorporate RCT’s latest Guidance feature G-Dash. This additional screen empowers operators with real-time machine telemetry (articulation angle, waypoint, locations, machine speed, RPM and pitch and roll) to drive further efficiencies. This new automation features will be supported via RCT’s latest communication offer, RCT Bridge, which leverages off the mine’s existing teleremote communication network. RCT Bridge delivers further value to clients with minimal investment as it removes the need to install a full-scale digital network in the work area.
