Northern Star’s South Kalgoorlie gold mine enters the Monitor Pro fold

Australia’s Northern Star Resources has chosen to run EHS Data’s Monitor Pro environmental management system at its South Kalgoorlie gold mine in Western Australia, as the miner looks to bring its newly-acquired operation inline with its other five assets.

Use of the MCERTS-accredited software at South Kalgoorlie has allowed the environmental team at Northern Star to streamline its reporting structure by replacing the old spreadsheet system into a “single, centralised source of data for the entire environmental operations”, EHS said.

MonitorPro provides a single, centralised source of data and reporting for the entire environmental and sustainability operation. “Through an easy to use dashboard you can manage data and produce accurate reporting and analytics – quickly and painlessly,” EM Data said.

The programme also integrates with MS Office to fit with existing workflows, making managing environmental data easier.

Northern Star acquired South Kalgoorlie back in April from Westgold Resources in an A$80 million deal. It included the operating processing facility and 800 km² of prospective gold tenure.

MonitorPro has been operational in Northern Star’s gold mines for several years.
