Seequent and acQuire have bolted on a “Smart Refresh” functionality to the latest release of its workflow-based 3D geological modelling tool, Leapfrog Geo 4.3.
Smart Refresh, provided by acQuire’s API acQuireDirect, is implemented in Leapfrog Geo offering a quick and easy way to incorporate changes and additions to geoscientific data.
It greatly improves the speed of updating datasets in Leapfrog Geo by obtaining the latest drilling data from the Geoscientific Information Management (GIM) Suite database without the need to reload entire contents. This ensures users of Leapfrog Geo 4.3 and GIM Suite database can rely on the most up to date data, cuttting risk in decision making, according to the two companies.
Nick Fogarty, Seequent’s General Manager of Mining and Minerals, said: “Working with outdated data presents a considerable business risk. Leapfrog Geo’s dynamic updating feature has helped to ensure users can quickly make the most of the latest data. Now in collaboration with acQuire, we’re able to introduce the Smart Refresh feature to significantly improve the existing workflow.”
Smart Refresh only updates drill holes or point samples changed in GIM Suite since the last time a dataset was extracted, rather than the entire dataset. With this, users have a more efficient way of working with their data between the two solutions.
Steve Mundell, Director of Product for acQuire, said: “We love to work with complementary technologies for the benefit of a greater customer experience and part of that experience is users performing analysis and interpretation having the most up-to-date data. Our commitment to software connectivity helps users leverage their data at any stage of the data lifecycle.”
Seequent is a developer of data visualisation software and collaborative technologies including 3D geological modelling, while acquire is a GIM software provider.
