Commencement of flotation commissioning at the Hellyer polymetallic project, Tasmania

NQ Minerals has commenced flotation commissioning at its Hellyer polymetallic operation in Tasmania, Australia. NQ Minerals’ acquisition of the Hellyer gold mine allows the opportunity to fully process and bring its tailings to account. Held within four separate areas, the tailings total 11.24 Mt, and comprise a JORC compliant resource estimated at 9.5 Mt which contains 2.61 g/t Au, 104 g/t Ag, 3.03% Pb and 2.5% Zn. In addition to these tailings, the Hellyer gold mine assets include a large pre-existing mill facility and full supporting infrastructure, including a direct rail line to port. It also includes a fully permitted Consolidated Mining Lease CML 103M – 1987. Highlights:

• Commenced successful tails dredging and pumping slurry from the main tailings dam to the Hellyer mill
• Commenced commissioning of the base metal flotation circuit at the Hellyer mill
• Major mechanical components including the concentrate filters are now all on site and nearing complete installation
• Dredge commissioned and in operation. About 120,000 t of material moved from the Finger Pond to Main Tailings Storage Facility prior to its now successful production start-up
• Some 62,000 hours worked on the project to date with no reportable injuries

Commenting, Brian Stockbridge, Non–Executive Chairman of NQ Minerals said: “We are pleased to report the Hellyer project in Tasmania Australia has now moved to the commissioning phase. This is a great milestone, and we are very proud of the management and team at Hellyer and the efforts made to get the project to this stage. We are looking forward to seeing concentrate shipped later this year.”
