BEML’s 205 t electric drive truck goes into action at Northern Coalfields’ Amlohri coal mine

Coal India subsidiary Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL), has now deployed the first indigenously developed electric dump truck in India at its Amlohri coal mine. The dumper was manufactured by Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML). With a capacity of 205 t, this is the highest capacity dumper ever deployed in an NCL operation.
In the launch program organised at the Base Workshop of NCL’s Amlori coal mine – NCL CMD Shri P.K. Sinha; BEML CMD Shri Deepak Kumar Hota; Director (Technical/Operations) at NCL Gunadhar Pandey; Director (Technical/Project and Planning) P.M. Prasad; Director (Finance) Shri Nag Nath Thakur and BEML Director of Mining & Construction Business  at BEML Shri B.R. Vishwanath all flagged off the new electric dump truck. BEML’s Hota said that handover of the dumper to NCL was a proud moment for the company.
NCL’s Pandey thanked BEML for placing the country’s first indigenous electric dump with NCL and expressed his hope that the successful operation of the dumpers in the Amlori mines would provide another gateway for deployment of more such dump trucks in the mines of NCL.
