CQMS Razer celebrating 40 years of mining solutions including CR Digital

This year CQMS Razer is celebrating 40 years of delivering world-first engineering, manufacturing and digital solutions to the mining industry. “With 12 global locations, servicing 15 countries, and dual headquarters in Australia and USA, CQMS Razer has grown to employ a highly experienced engineering, science and technical workforce of more than 250 backed by world-class management and quality systems.”

“The CQMS Razer global presence is bolstered by 40 years’ experience creating products for the toughest and most challenging surface mining sites on the planet and by the strong long-term relationships formed with some of the largest surface mining operators in the world. The CQMS Razer product range has grown to include cast lip systems, dragline buckets, ground engaging tools, dragline rigging, conveyor systems and fixed plant wear products. Most recently CQMS Razer has also diversified into real-time mining data technology through CR Digital. In March the company celebrated one billion tonnes of resources mined by its customers using their CR Digital Titan technology range, a milestone reached ahead of schedule thanks to strong ongoing product interest from major miners and contractors.”

CQMS Razer CEO John Barbagallo said they were proud of the product range the company had delivered over the last 40 years and their ability to identify unmet market needs early and develop new innovative solutions to address them. “The long-term partnerships CQMS Razer has established with mining contractors and operators reflects our drive to deliver safe, high-quality and reliable mining products that are responsive to our customer’s needs,” said Barbagallo.

To celebrate the 40th year milestone, CQMS Razer released a special edition anniversary dragline bucket in partnership with fabricator Melco Engineering which will be delivered to mining operator BMA. “Our long-term partnerships with Australia’s major mining operators are built on trust, reliability and a common goal to deliver safe and innovative productivity solutions that support sustainable mining,” said Barbagallo.

“We’re extremely proud to be able to share this important milestone with our customers, suppliers and our incredible staff. We thank them for their support and we look forward to together, leading global standards for surface mining technology into the future.”

Solutions include Titan 3330™ Load Haul Optimisation Technology, a leading real-time hydraulic shovel payload monitoring system, “increasing average payloads while reducing safety overloads, delivering improved production over an optimised load haul fleet.” Titan 3330™ system uses highly sophisticated instruments and patented algorithms to calculate and display the payload of each bucket, accurately, in real-time and during motion, before it is dumped into the truck. The intuitive user interface displays the real-time data to assist the operator with accurate truckloads by allowing them to understand the current bucket weight, and what the remaining payload target is, in real-time.

“Titan 3330™ enables its users to set specific payload targets to individual trucks, and can automatically recognise arriving trucks and their target payload, using RFID technology. The targets set, allow the mines to align their fill rates to the sites production strategy, further optimising the load haul fleet.” The Titan™ technology automatically recognises non-productive loads, and only allocates those loads that are dumped into the trucks, as ongoing payload data. Once a truck is at target capacity and leaves, Titan automatically refreshes the payload data, calibrating for the next truck in line.
