On October 15, global mining truck major BELAZ signed a contract for the delivery of 77 BELAZ-75137 dump trucks with a payload capacity of 136 t to Coal India Ltd, the world’s largest coal-producing company.
BELAZ dump trucks are going to be deployed to the Gevra open cast coal mine. In the framework of the project it is also planned to establish a modern service centre close to the mine. The first batches of dump trucks are scheduled to be shipped in November and December 2019.
The contract was signed during an official ceremony in the framework of a visit of Petr Parkhomchik, General Director of OJSC BELAZ to India with the participation of H.E. Andrei Rzheussky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka (concurrently).
BELAZ first announced it had won a tender for the delivery of a large batch of BELAZ dump trucks in the beginning of 2019. BELAZ will also be supplying spare parts and providing service maintenance for eight years of operation from when the equipment has been delivered.
