Redpath Australia awarded record surface raiseboring contract in NSW involving eight holes totalling 5.3 km

Leading underground mining services contractor Redpath Australia has announced the award of a “significant surface raisebore contract” in New South Wales, for an unnamed operation in southeastern Australia. The contract scope involves three Redbore rigs; Redbore 100, Redbore 90EX and Redbore 90. All three rigs are designed and manufactured in North Bay, Canada, and are contracted for eight holes, totalling 5.3 km. No further details were given as to the customer, even to state that it is a mining related contract or to specify the type of mine.

Redpath Australia says it was selected for this contract for its safety record and high performance standards.“The award of this contract marks a significant milestone for Redpath Australia and Redpath globally as this is our largest single raiseboring contract to date. We are very excited to be assisting our client, providing them with the safe execution of their ventilation systems,” said Gavin Ramage, Managing Director of Redpath Australia. Work will commence onsite in June 2021, with recruitment to begin shortly.
