DRA Global is continuing its relationship with thermal coal major Bravus Mining & Resources after securing a multimillion-dollar contract for the operations and maintenance services of the Carmichael Coal Handling and Preparation facility (CHPP) in central Queensland, Australia. The three-year contract, with one plus one-year options, is the first operations and maintenance services contract for DRA in APAC and has created 48 new jobs in the region.
The O&M contract follows on from DRA completing both the engineering procurement and construction of the facility and it says “demonstrates that our business has the experience and capabilities to deliver high-value operations and maintenance services in responsible mining.”
Under this contract, DRA is supplying the people and equipment to operate and optimise Bravus Mining and Resources’ coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) including the CPP and CHP. It is also supplying people and equipment to provide stockpile management and reclaiming services at the Train Load Out Facility to meet the train loading schedule; and providing maintenance planning, scheduling, and all maintenance requirements.
DRA says it offers a wide range of services designed to make mineral processing requirements more cost-effective while maintaining product quality, plant integrity and worker safety.
