GroundHog launches innovative app for construction crews in underground mines

GroundHog, a leading provider of technology solutions for the mining industry, has announced the release of its latest app, designed specifically for construction crews working in underground mines.

The new app, called ‘GroundHog Construction Crews’ is described as a powerful tool that streamlines communication and collaboration for construction crews working in underground mines. The app allows crew members to access real-time information about work items on their pass-down sheets (also called PLODs in Australia) – for example installing pumps to clear water in production areas, extending ventilation, installing WiFi access points to new work areas, etc.

“We understand the unique challenges that construction crews face in underground mines. Our new app is designed specifically to make work performed by construction, electrical, I&T and field maintenance crews easier and more efficient while also improving safety,” says Satish Penmetsa, CEO.

The GroundHog Construction Crew app’s features include real-time tracking of work orders assigned to construction, electrical and I&T crews in underground mines; ability to line-out the crew; set and track to priorities and track progress updates; take pictures to verify the completion of work orders to spec; and work in an online/offline mode.

The Construction Crew app is built on the widely deployed GroundHog Short Interval Control and Fleet Management System. “We are confident that GroundHog Construction Crew app will revolutionise the way construction crews work in underground mines,” said Krishan Agarwal, an Underground Mine Dispatch Supervisor. “We look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the industry.” The app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
