Primero has been awarded the Tank Design, Fabrication, Testing and Delivery package for the South32 Biological Oxalate Destruction (BOD) Project to be constructed at the Worsley Alumina Refinery near Collie in South-West WA.
The BOD Project involves the implementation of a new oxalate destruction process for managing sodium oxalate within the South32 Worsley Alumina Pty Ltd (SWAPL) Refinery. The project utilises technology similar to that used at Alcoa’s Pinjarra and Wagerup refineries and will provide environmental benefits to the ongoing Worsley refinery operations.
The work will be conducted in conjunction with Primero’s sister company RCR in Bunbury supporting local jobs in the South-West region. Primero said it looks forward to working with the South32 and RCR teams to deliver this project successfully.
