Epiroc SmartROC T35/T40 drill rigs to benefit from next gen cabin

Posted on 2 Jul 2025

Epiroc is launching updated versions of its SmartROC T35 and T40 drill rigs, with a new operator cabin included to help further increase productivity and operator comfort and safety.

The SmartROC T35 and T40 are popular machines thanks to their productivity and class-leading fuel-efficiency, Epiroc says. They will now be further enhanced with a cabin that is quieter and reduces vibration levels. The cab is also lighter and more spacious.

“Our new cabin is packed with numerous improvements that will support an efficient and smooth operation,” Ulf Gyllander, Global Product Manager, Epiroc Surface division, says, adding that it will increase the comfort for the operator in many ways, helping to reduce fatigue and keep productivity high.

Several new features will also have a positive effect on safety, as they now can be controlled from inside the cabin.

“The less the operator has to be put in the way of potential dangers, the better it is from a safety point of view,” Gyllander added.

A brand-new blast-resistant glass option is also another safety benefit, as it will help to avoid flying debris from penetrating the cabin space. The glass area itself also presents the operator with a fantastic view over the drill area and top of the mast.

“The blast-resistance glass, combined with a much-improved air-filtering system, which reduces dust levels in the cabin, will improve both safety and work environment for personnel,” Gylllander said.

The new generation SmartROC T35/T40 also includes new options such as a bit-grinder so that operators can ensure that rig drilling performance is kept to a maximum at all times.

“We believe that this generation SmartROC T35 and T40 builds on the legacy we have built up from the previous generations,” Gylllander said. “These new rigs offer the same reliability, but boost productivity, further reduce costs and TCO whilst also substantially increasing operator comfort.”
