LiuGong launches ultraclass hybrid wheel loader & autonomous 127 t wide body truck

Posted on 2 Jun 2026

On May 31, the 6th LiuGong Global Customer Day was held in Liuzhou, China. Su Zimeng, President of the China Construction Machinery Association, Song Zhiping, President of the China Association for Public Companies, Zheng Jin, Chairman of LiuGong Group and LiuGong Machinery, plus Luo Guobing, Vice Chairman and President of LiuGong Machinery, plus other LiuGong top management were present.

They were joined by amore than 1,200 customers, partners and industry experts from over 50 countries and regions, gathered to witness LiuGong’s latest achievements in sustainability, intelligence and globalisation, and explore the future of low-carbon transformation in the mining and construction equipment industry.

Major mining equipment launches included what was described as the world’s largest permanent magnet hybrid wheel loader – the 23.5 t bucket capacity LiuGong 8250TE, which features a hybrid electric drive technology with a world first low-speed, high-power permanent magnet drive and a high-power, long-life energy storage system. LiuGong says this allows for precise and independent control of the rotational speed and torque of each wheel, resulting in improved fuel efficiency and enhanced production capabilities.

The other major mining launches was an unmanned electric and large payload wide-body mining truck, the 127 t class DW165CE, which supports all-scene operation modes and mixed manned/unmanned operations. LiuGong: “It can autonomously drive stably in harsh environments with visibility of only 20 metres, such as in rain, fog, and dust.”
Newly upgraded LiuGong 5G remote-controlled driving technology it says enables remote operation of ultra-large excavators weighing 135 t, breaking down barriers between safety and efficiency regardless of distance or time. Other new products included a world first hybrid electric-powered grader, the 4380DH, and the large LD60D bulldozer, which form a comprehensive set of auxilliary equipment. LiuGong: “Together, they help build a green intelligent equipment system that covers all processes in mining operations.”

At this year’s Customer Festival, LiuGong also unveiled its “groundbreaking” Zero-Carbon Smart Mining Solution. By creating a fully integrated system encompassing equipment+energy+intelligence+services, the company says it provides global mining clients with a one-stop, actionable pathway for transformation. “This solution establishes a comprehensive matrix of open-pit mining equipment, covering drilling and blasting, loading, transportation, and auxilliary construction activities.

LiuGong has also introduced the Microgrid Energy Supply Integration Monitoring Platform, which it says can effectively address the energy challenges faced by remote mines. It can also generate revenue from green energy management, resulting in a direct reduction of power costs by more than 40%. At the same time, it provides entirely new solutions in terms of intelligence and full-life-cycle services, offering customised transformation paths for mining clients of various sizes and operating conditions.

LiuGong also unveiled a comprehensive electric, intelligent, and digital solution that encompasses various power paths, including pure electric, hybrid, tow-electric, and battery swapping, as well as core technologies such as XuanJia batteries and electric drive bridges. Among these, the self-developed Smart Mine Management System 4.0 uses 5G+AI+BeiDou technology to enable visualised control and intelligent scheduling of all mine operations, resulting in a more than 20% increase in operational efficiency.

Finally, the 600,000th wheel loader from LiuGong was proudly delivered, marking a milestone moment in the 60-year journey of LiuGong loaders. The 8110TE electric loaders delivered this time will head to front lines of mining operations, “using their green and intelligent capabilities to write a new chapter in the industry.”

The 60 years has covered 600,000 units and six generations of machines. From the birth of China’s first wheeled loader, the Z435, at LiuGong in 1966, to the creation of the ZL50C, which set a sales record for Chinese loaders, to the delivery of the 600,000th loader, LiuGong says it has written an industrial epic story of China’s loader evolution.

It stated: “Over the past 60 years, LiuGong loaders have not only achieved remarkable success by securing the top domestic market share for several consecutive years, but have also produced the world’s first high-altitude special-purpose loader, the ZLG50G, and the world’s first fully electric loader, the 856H-EV, the world’s first unmanned electric loader for mining, the 870HE, and many other industry firsts which have enabled China’s loader industry to transition from following to catching up and leading, solidifying China’s confidence in its manufacturing capabilities as they expand globally.”
