Weir bolsters Western Australia capability by relocating Perth Minerals Division base

Posted on 4 Jun 2026

Weir has relocated the Perth operations of its Minerals Division to a new, purpose-built facility in Hazelmere – marking, it says, a major expansion of its service and engineering capability in Western Australia.

The 14,500 sq.m site significantly increases Weir’s capacity to service and rebuild critical mining equipment enabling faster turnaround times and strengthening support for customers across the region, it says.

Strategically located in Hazelmere, the Perth facility improves connectivity with key mining regions, transport networks and customers across Western Australia. It was officially opened by the Honourable David Michael MLA, Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Finance; Electoral Affairs; Goldfields-Esperance; Leader of the House, on May 28, 2026.

The 4,500 sq.m heavy-duty workshop is equipped with 80-t and 50-t overhead cranes to handle large-scale equipment, resulting in more efficient turnaround for heavy maintenance and complex rebuilds.

Additional features include dedicated blast, paint and cleaning rooms, and a fit-for-purpose area provisioned for future excitor testing. A modern office fit-out includes contemporary workstations, meeting rooms and breakout spaces to support collaboration and productivity.

The new Perth facility provides comprehensive support for customers, including parts and spares supply and distribution across Weir’s portfolio of minerals processing solutions. It delivers service, repair and rebuild capabilities for a wide range of equipment, including WARMAN® slurry pumps, GEHO® positive displacement pumps, Isogate® valves, CAVEX® hydrocyclones, ENDURON® comminution range including screens and crushers, as well as broader mechanical services. Specialist wear solutions and LINATEX® premium rubber lining are supported by in‑house engineering expertise and specialist technical services.

This investment reflects sustained demand from mining customers across Western Australia and reinforces Weir’s long-term commitment to the region. The facility also demonstrates a focus on sustainability, achieving a 5 Star Green Building rating and incorporating solar generation and smart energy systems to support efficient, responsible operations. This relocation marks a significant step in enhancing Weir’s ability to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions while building capacity for future demand.

Bernard Brussow, West Director – Minerals Division APAC, said: “This investment significantly strengthens our ability to support mining customers across Western Australia. With expanded capacity and advanced facilities, we are better positioned to help our customers maximise uptime and performance.”
