On June 16, leading Chinese global mining contractor JCHX and mining equipment major Epiroc formally signed a new global strategic cooperation agreement at JCHX’s headquarters, covering a cooperation period of five years.

Attending from JCHX included Wang Chi-cheng, Executive Vice President; Liu Bin, Executive Assistant to the President; and Wang Yi-cheng, Director of the Materials Management Centre. From Epiroc the team included Jess Kindler, Business Area President Equipment & Service and Wei Wu-xian, President of the Greater China Region.

JCHX as a leading contractor – and also now mine owner operator in its own right – is a customer of Epiroc’s innovative equipment and solutions, products, and services encompassing both open-pit and underground drill rigs, bolters, LHDs and trucks, as well as tools; and automation, digitalisation, and electrification solutions, along with comprehensive after-sales support.

JCHX is the first large Chinese mining client to sign a global strategic cooperation agreement with Epiroc. Since establishing a strategic partnership initially in 2015, the two parties say they have engaged in practical and efficient cooperation in various areas, including equipment and spare parts supply, technical service support, and business training.

During the signing ceremony, the two parties jointly reviewed their decade-long history of collaborative progress and engaged in in-depth discussions on the current state of the international mining industry and the trends in the development of mining equipment supply chains. Wang Ci-cheng stated that since the initiation of the strategic cooperation in 2015, the two parties have engaged in three rounds of in-depth collaboration in areas such as drill rigs, underground LHDs and mining trucks, and the supply of related spare parts, as well as professional practical training. Each phase of this collaboration has marked significant milestones.

JCHX said the signing of this new agreement marks a significant milestone in the evolution of its partnership with Epiroc, as the partners transition into a global, high-level phase of cooperation.

Jess Kindler expressed gratitude for the long-standing trust and support of JCHX, and praised the company for rapidly growing into a mining enterprise with international competitiveness, relying on high-quality management, advantages in advanced equipment, and a wealth of technical expertise. He added that Epiroc will continue to assist JCHX in making further breakthroughs in its international development process.

Both parties expressed their intention to use this new round of cooperation as an opportunity to fully leverage their respective strengths, and “continue driving the industry towards higher-end, intelligent, and green mine development, and jointly write a new chapter of cooperation and sustainable development through symbiotic and mutually beneficial outcomes.”
