A fleet of LiuGong DW105AE battery electric wide-body trucks has been deployed at one of Conch Cement’s mines in south China, part of Conch Cement’s drive towards operating zero-carbon mines.
Liugong and Conch Cement have a long history of cooperation including supply of traditional diesel equipment to new energy mining equipment and the implementation of oil-to-electric conversion solutions. Other equipment operating at the mine includes the 95 t class 995FE cable electric hydraulic excavator, which has an advanced remote-controlled cable reel that can reel out cables up to 150 m long. The power is delivered via a high performance 450 kW electric motor with high torque.
Driven by China’s dual carbon goals and the trend of green and intelligent transformation in the mining industry, Conch Cement is accelerating the comprehensive electrification layout of mining operations, partnering with LiuGong to leverage its strengths in electrification and intelligent complete machinery equipment, in order to jointly create a replicable and scalable new model for zero-carbon mine construction.
Since early 2026, through multiple rounds of high-level talks and all-electric mine solution meetings, both sides have reached a consensus to comprehensively deepen the collaborative construction of green mines, based on cooperation in electrified equipment.
TheĀ LiuGong DW105AE electric wide-body vehicle delivered this time as a fleet has a rated load of 70 t and is equipped with a fully hydraulic load-sensitive steering system, with an emergency steering system as standard, making steering easier, more reliable, and safer.
It is also equipped with mining power batteries for high energy density, long lifespan, and enhanced safety. LiuGong: “Under various extreme working conditions, with outstanding environmental adaptability and stable performance, it has been widely applied in large domestic mining and hydraulic engineering projects, earning high customer recognition.”
The truck’sĀ 500 kW motor offers 10% increased traction and 5% superior energy recovery. A large displacement pump boosts lifting time by 20%. The dual-circuit braking system ensures safety, while the integral rigid frame enhances bending resistance by 40%. Front axle oil-gas suspension improves ride comfort, increasing shock isolation efficiency by 35%.
In the future, LiuGong says it will continue to strengthen full-chain services including technology on-site, equipment iteration, and overseas business collaboration, working hand in hand with customers to open the large-scale implementation path for mine green transformation.
Conch Cement in 2025 also announced a a strategic cooperation agreement with battery technology giant CATL, whose 528 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery is used in the DW105AE trucks. The CATL-Conch partnership includes transitioning to electric vehicles and creating more efficient and sustainable energy networks.
In its 2025 ESG report, Conch Cement states: “Conch Cement actively responded to the national ‘Dual Carbon’ goal, accelerated the pace of electrification of transportation equipment, and systematically promoted the strategic transformation of construction machinery from diesel-driven to electric-driven. In 2025, the electrification rate of transportation equipment increased to more than 25%, representing a year-on-year increase of 12.5%.”
